Itinerary
Raja Ampat – December 12–20, 2026, a fantastic itinerary where you can dive with mantas, explore vibrant coral gardens, and enjoy the dramatic underwater scenery that this region is famous for. All while sailing on the comfortable and well-equipped Mermaid II.
DAY 1
Check-in on Mermaid II at your convenience throughout the day, depending on flight arrival. Settle into your cabin, unpack, and set up your dive gear. After the boat and safety briefing, Mermaid II begins cruising overnight toward the Misool region.

DAY 2–4 — Misool Region
Spend three full days exploring Misool, home to hundreds of spectacular dive sites. Expect stunning soft corals, sea fans full of pygmy seahorses, vibrant pinnacles, and huge schools of fish.
You’ll visit famous island groups such as Balbulol, Sagof, Wagmab, Farondi, Wayilbatan, Warakaraket, Fiabacet, Yillet, Kalig, and Pele, each offering its own underwater treasures.
After the final dives in Misool, Mermaid II begins cruising toward the Dampier Strait.

DAY 5–7 — Penemu, Kawe, Central Raja Ampat, Dampier Strait
Dive around Penemu Island and enjoy a visit to its iconic viewpoint. Explore Kawe, known for manta encounters, black coral gardens, and massive schools of fish.
Continue to Yanggefo, where mangroves meet coral reefs, creating vibrant underwater landscapes with plentiful schooling fish.
Visit and dive the jetties at Arborek and Sawandarek, famous for their soft coral–covered pillars and excellent macro life (nudibranchs, pipefish, blue-ringed octopus).
Next, explore the legendary Dampier Strait, where mantas gather at their cleaning stations and currents bring unbelievable fish action—barracuda, bigeye jacks, surgeonfish, fusiliers, and more. Macro lovers can find seamoths, Pontohi pygmy seahorses, and pipefish, while wobbegong sharks rest under coral ledges.

DAY 8 — Dampier Strait & Return to Sorong
Enjoy two final dives in the Dampier Strait, packed with fish, vibrant corals, and manta possibilities.
After the dives, Mermaid II begins the journey back to Sorong, while the crew rinses and prepares your equipment for disembarkation.

After breakfast, Mermaid II staff will transfer you to the airport or your hotel in Sorong.
