About The Carpe Diem

The Carpe Diem Liveaboard is a traditional Indonesian two-masted sailing vessel. As a matter of fact, it was built on the beaches of South Sulawesi using ironwood and teak, and rudimentary tools. Indeed, this beautiful vessel is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of boatbuilding in South Sulawesi. The Carpe Diem Liveaboard offers several itineraries, including cruises to Lombok & Gilis Islands, Komodo and Raja Ampat.

Accomodations on the Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem Liveaboard has four cabins, limiting the number of guests to a maximum of ten. Each cabin has a private shower, sink, toilet, and air conditioner, with natural light and storage space.

The Pala cabin on the Main Deck has large forward-facing windows and a skylight. Another key point, the Cengkeh cabin on the lower deck can be converted into a twin or double cabin.

There is a well-appointed saloon and an onboard library, along with open deck spaces for alfresco dining, yoga, and relaxation. The food is prepared by an imaginative chef with locally sourced, fresh ingredients and includes seafood caught by local fishermen.

Activities on board

The diving activities are accompanied by qualified dive guides with full DAN First Aid and Oxygen equipment and free Mares equipment for all divers. The schedule is relaxed, and small groups are taken to some of the most beautiful and unspoiled dive sites on earth.

For those who are not diving, there are snorkeling opportunities with shallow reefs and clear waters. The Carpe Diem also offers two sea kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.

Where does the Carpe Diem cruises?

Lombok is a great place to explore and dive. Especially in the south where large pelagic such as mackerel, rays, and sharks are commonly spotted. Additionally, the Gili Islands off the north-west coast of Lombok, are famous for their excellent snorkeling, diving, and surf.

Komodo, Flores, and Rinca are home to the famous “Komodo dragons,” which have become a worldwide tourist attraction. These islands offer pristine, coral-filled waters for diving and snorkeling, where a wide variety of marine life can be seen. All in all, the culture, natural beauty of the lakes and volcanoes, and native handicrafts make these islands a dream to visit.

The territory within the islands of Raja Ampat is the most diverse living library for the world’s coral reef and underwater biota. Diving in Raja Ampat is a paradise for divers, with the chance to discover unique flora and fauna such as hidden ancient caves, waterfalls, secluded beaches, and even lakes filled with non-stinging jellyfish. Therefore, Carpe Diem Liveaboard offers four types of trip in Raja Ampat, covering the central, north, and southern regions.

Environmental and societal commitment

Carpe Diem Liveaboard recognizes that its operations affect the environment and strives to minimize or eliminate these impacts. Moreover, it is conscious of its role in supporting and interacting with local communities, businesses, and individuals in Indonesia. By traveling with Carpe Diem Liveaboard, you can enjoy a sustainable and responsible travel experience that respects the environment and local culture.
