Trip 1: Bali – Komodo Exepedition

This particular journey provides an abundance of diverse and rich marine life starting from the stunning coral reefs that stretch from Bali to Labuan Bajo. The Gilis Islands, where reef sharks are frequently observed, are home to various species of marine fish such as tuna, barracuda, trevally, and occasional eagle rays. Additionally, there is a wide array of fish including sweetlips, pufferfish, angelfish, batfish, butterflyfish, lionfish, scorpionfish, and schooling snapper, fusilier, and damsels. Keep an eye out for odd-shaped bottom-dwelling creatures and critters in the rubble and sand patches.

Sangeang is famous for its macro life, where one can spot nudibranch, ghost pipefish, frogfish, and long-arm octopi at the renowned dive sites such as Deep Purple, Hot Rocks, The Estuary, and Bonto Bay. Bali - Komodo Expedition Itinerary
  • Day 1 Bali – Nusa Penida: After being greeted at the airport or hotel by Scubaspa Zen crew, travel to the harbor and embark Scubaspa ZEN. Enjoy a short rest and unpack. Crew introductions and boat briefings led by the Cruise Managers will be followed with a buffet-style welcome dinner at the restaurant. ZEN then depart towards east to Nusa Penida.
  • Day 2 Gili Islands: Awake to the Maldivian atmosphere of Gili islands. The three Gili Islands of Trawangan, Air and Meno, located off Lombok promise something for everyone. Turtles are undoubtedly one of the highlights of diving around the Gili Islands – both green and hawksbill species are abundant.
  • Day 3 Moyo Island: The journey continue to the east, Moyo Island famous to be diving destinations. Jump into the water to meet sharks, mantas, blue – ring octopus, pigmy…and much more. Or walk into the jungle to spot wild pigs, deers, monkeys, cacatua and a huge diversity of birds and butterfly. Enjoy the sunset, look at the sky and be astonished by the beauty of the Milky Way.
  • Day 4 Sumbawa Island: Teluk Saleh as part of Sumbawa Island is being famous for whale sharks. The activity will be starting early morning when the sun rises from the east where the whale sharks are on the active time to find a small fish for their breakfast.
  • Day 5 Sangeang: Wake next to Sangeang with its beautiful picturesque (and active!) volcano and enjoy yoga on the beach in the morning. Dive or snorkel on the magical bubble reef dive site, Hot Rocks, for an explosion of color and bubbles from beneath the black sand. The dramatic volcano view will be the background of your special BBQ onboard Scubaspa ZEN. Enjoy cocktails under the clear and starry sky on the sundeck before cruising east towards Gili Lawa Darat.
  • Day 6 Komodo Islands: Waking in North Komodo, spend the day around the small island of Gili Lawa Darat. Tide permitting, we can prepare a beach setup here or you can spend your afternoon with a treatment selection at the spa onboard. For divers, this is one of best places to see the majestic mantas, sharks and maybe even dolphins. Scubaspa ZEN will voyage to Siaba Besar after dinner.
  • Day 7 Rinca Island – Labuan Bajo: Witness the astonishing sky and calm atmosphere of Rinca Island while practicing yoga as the sun rises. No trip to Komodo is complete without visiting the home of the world’s largest lizard. Trek the hills in the morning to spot Komodo dragons and other wildlife. The crew will assist you in rinsing dive gear and retrieving your luggage for packing. The Cruise Managers will assist you with your final billing. Embark on an unforgettable scuba diving adventure around the picturesque Komodo National Park. Our itinerary includes three of the most sought-after diving spots in the region.

Firstly, for those who enjoy macro photography, Padar is the perfect destination. You’ll witness a plethora of sea creatures, including octopuses, nudibranchs, frogfish, scorpionfish, and ghost pipefish, amidst stunning sea fans and incredible coral gardens.

Next, we’ll explore the Nusa Kode dive sites, where you can spot small critters such as nudibranchs, frogfish, and long-nosed hawkfish. Green turtles are a common sight here, and you may also encounter lobsters and octopuses.

Finally, Manta Alley awaits, which is one of the best places to dive with magnificent manta rays in the park. Crew introductions and boat briefings led by the Cruise Managers will be followed with a buffet-style welcome dinner at the restaurant. Anchoring at Labuan Bajo port on the first night, ZEN then departs and heads southwest to Padar Island.
  • Day 2 Padar Island – Nusa Kode: Witness the astonishing sky and calming atmosphere of Padar Island while practicing yoga as the sun rises. We will dive at Secret Garden, Tiga Dara (Three Sisters), during the day and Padar Bay in the evening. Dinner will be served in the al fresco restaurant on board while the vessel cruises southeast towards Nusa Kode.
  • Day 3 Nusa Kode – Loh Sera Bay: Awake to the peaceful atmosphere of Nusa Kode where one of the signature dive sites of Komodo National Park’s located. Dive at the famous Yellow Wall of Texas, a colorful site covered with soft corals and sea fans. Experience the other stunning sites of Nusa Kode such as Cannibal Rock, known for large schools and vibrant colors, Rhino Rock, a top-notch muck dive site, and Torpedo Alley, a night dive with a chance to see torpedo rays. After the night dive, dinner awaits you at the restaurant while the vessel cruises northwest towards Loh Sera Bay.
  • Day 4 Komodo Island – Siaba Besar: Awake in the south of Komodo Island and prepare for a morning dive at Manta Alley. We will then journey up the east coast of Komodo Island to visit Komodo Dragon Park. No trip to Komodo is complete without visiting the home of the world’s largest lizard. Afterwards, enjoy the scenery and relax at Pink Beach. The team onboard will prepare a BBQ on deck for a special dinner while the vessel cruises northeast towards Siaba Besar. 
  • Day 5 Siaba Besar – Gili Lawa Darat: Awake next to Siaba Besar Island and prepare for a morning dive to see green turtles and reef sharks. Your second dive will be at Mauan. Located on the west side of Siaba Besar, this small island offers pleasant and unexpected surprises. Afterwards, enjoy a BBQ lunch buffet prepared by our chef. Relax on board and prepare to visit Sebayur where you may kayak or visit the beaches or enjoy a dive to see sharks, reef fish, and colorful corals in crystal blue water. Return to the vessel for dinner. There will be stargazing on the top deck before cruising northwest towards Gili Lawa Darat. We’ll shut down all lights and watch one of the most magical night shows you will ever see.
  • Day 6 Gili Lawa Drat – Siaba Besar: Waking in north Komodo, spend the day around the small island of Gili Lawa Darat. Tide permitting, we can prepare a beach setup here or you can spend your afternoon with a treatment selection at the spa onboard. For divers, some of the most famous dive sites in the Komodo National Park are here: Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, and Shotgun. Scubaspa ZEN will voyage and moors overnight at Sebayur after dinner.
  • Day 10 Sebayur – Labuan Bajo: Enjoy your last day exploring Komodo at Sebayur, a great place for a relaxing dive where you can view a large variety of corals and marine life setting with very little current. Facing the beach, along the right side is a series of spurs that all have amazing coral formations. Look out the sea and you may spot the random pelagic making its way across the ocean. The crew will assist you in rinsing dive gear and retrieving your luggage for packing. The cruise managers will assist you with your final billing. Sunset cocktails and a BBQ dinner with all the hallmarks of Scubaspa ZEN service will conclude your last evening with us. The vessel will return to Labuan Bajo that night.
