Scuba Diving around Candidasa and Padangbai

The dive sites around Candidasa and Padangbai offer some of the island’s most thrilling diving experiences. These neighboring areas are known for their healthy coral reefs and regular encounters with larger marine species.

The Padangbai Jetty is a macro photographer’s paradise, hosting frogfish, ghost pipefish, and various nudibranchs. The Blue Lagoon, a sheltered bay perfect for beginner divers and training, contrasts with more challenging sites like Gili Mimpang where reef sharks and large schools of jacks are commonly spotted.

Between June and October, lucky divers might encounter the mysterious Mola Mola (oceanic sunfish) at deeper sites like Gili Tepekong and Gili Biaha, where strong currents and cooler waters attract these unique creatures. Water temperatures can drop significantly during Mola Mola season, making this area particularly interesting for experienced divers seeking diverse marine life encounters.
