Dinara

Dinara is a 32-metre phinisi built in 2023, sailing Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo. Seven cabins, up to 18 guests, a jacuzzi on the bow and paddleboards on deck.

Open trips run 3 days and 2 nights, twice a week. The whole boat can also be chartered, from a single day up to five.

The Boat

Dinara was finished in 2023. She is 32 metres long with a 4.8 metre beam, runs two Mitsubishi engines and cruises at 7 to 11 knots. There is a sun deck with day beds, an indoor dining saloon, a lounge with a television and karaoke, and a jacuzzi on the bow.

Paddleboards, canoes and snorkelling gear are on board and included, along with a tender and a 15hp speedboat for shore trips. Wifi runs throughout the boat.

The Cabins

Seven cabins across the main and upper decks, all with air conditioning, sea views, hot water, towels and power sockets. Six have an ensuite bathroom. Merapi uses a shared one, which is why it holds the cheapest bed on board.

Prices below are per person for the 3 day, 2 night open trip.

Prices are set in rupiah. The dollar figures are converted at IDR 17,900 to the dollar and move with the rate.

Rinjani & Bromo (Main Deck | Ensuite)

Two private cabins on the main deck, each with a double bed, an ensuite bathroom with hot water and a sea view. They take 2 to 3 guests with an extra bed.

IDR 3,700,000 / USD 205 per person. Extra bed IDR 2,500,000 / USD 140.

Ijen (Main Deck | Ensuite)

The main deck family cabin, with two beds, its own bathroom and a sea view. It takes up to 4 guests, so it suits families or friends travelling together.

IDR 3,200,000 / USD 180 per person for four. For three people, IDR 3,750,000 / USD 210 per person.

Merapi (Upper Deck | Private Balcony | Shared Bathroom)

The upper deck family cabin, with two double beds and its own balcony, for 4 guests. It is the only cabin on board using a shared bathroom.

IDR 2,700,000 / USD 150 per person. For three people, IDR 3,250,000 / USD 180 per person.

Tambora (Upper Deck | Ensuite | Private Balcony)

A private cabin on the upper deck with a double bed, an ensuite bathroom and its own balcony, for 2 to 3 guests.

IDR 3,800,000 / USD 210 per person. Extra bed IDR 2,500,000 / USD 140.

Krakatau & Semeru (Upper Deck | Master | Ensuite | Private Balcony)

The two master cabins sit at the top of the boat, each with a full sea view, a private balcony, an ensuite bathroom and an Android TV. Each takes 2 to 3 guests.

IDR 4,250,000 / USD 235 per person. Extra bed IDR 2,500,000 / USD 140.

3 Days 2 Nights Itinerary

Day 1

  • 10am, pick-up from your hotel or the airport, then briefing on board
  • Kelor Island and the climb to the viewpoint
  • Lunch, then snorkelling at Manjarite
  • Sunset and the flying foxes at Kalong Island
  • Dinner, then a night sail to Padar

Day 2

  • 4.30am start for the hike up Padar Island at sunrise
  • Breakfast, then Pink Beach and snorkelling
  • Komodo Island and the walk to see the dragons
  • Taka Makassar sandbar
  • Snorkelling at Manta Point
  • Dinner and a BBQ on board

Day 3

  • Sunrise from the boat
  • Breakfast, then snorkelling with turtles at Siaba
  • Back in Labuan Bajo by 10am, last lunch on board
  • Drop-off at your hotel or the airport by noon

Departures: every Friday to Sunday and every Monday to Wednesday.

The itinerary can change depending on sea conditions.

Food on board

Meals are cooked fresh on board and served in the indoor dining saloon. The kitchen works through chicken, fish, squid, prawn, tofu and tempe, with vegetables, rice or noodles, crackers and sambal, and fruit to finish. Open trips include a BBQ dinner. Snacks run through the afternoon, with free flow water, tea and coffee all day. Let us know about dietary requirements when you book.

  • Tips for the crew, guide and ranger
  • On charters: photography and drone at IDR 1,250,000 a day, a licensed Indonesian guide at IDR 500,000 a day, and a DJ at IDR 2,000,000 a day

Private Charter

The whole boat, from a single day up to five, taking up to 23 guests with extra beds. Trips start and finish at Labuan Bajo harbour. Prices are for the boat, not per person.

At current rates that runs from roughly USD 2,000 for two days to USD 4,600 for five. A full day charter without an overnight is IDR 39,000,000, plus IDR 1,000,000 per extra guest.

Charter routes cover 6 to 7 stops over two days, 11 over three days, 13 over four and 18 over five, taking in Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island, Manta Point, Taka Makassar, Gili Lawa Darat, Siaba, Kanawa and Sebayur.
