Reported impact
Up from 71 on 19 August. BNPB attributes the rise to severely injured people who did not survive treatment rather than to newly found bodies.

Closed by BBKSDA NTT on 18 August as part of a wider decision covering several protected areas in Flores; the notice set no end date. Checked again on 25 August: still no reopening announced. Shown as disrupted rather than closed on Nico's instruction of 22 August; if that reflects boats still running locally, say so and this note should record it.
Announced 31 August on the management body's own channel. Not yet carried by any news outlet, and the website cited in the announcement does not resolve, so we have this from one source. BPOLBF endorsed the post. Wae Rebo has reopened and closed repeatedly for weather and ritual, five times in eighteen months, so confirm close to the travel date rather than treating this as settled.
Navigation restrictions around Komodo Island and Padar Island are lifted
Sources differ. On 17 August Todo was listed among five Manggarai sites shut as a precaution; on 19 August ANTARA reported it "tetap ramai dikunjungi dan beroperasi seperti biasa". We show the later report and are confirming with our team on the ground.
Official announcement signed at Ende on 24 August 2026 by Heru Rudiharto, Head of Kelimutu National Park, following an assessment on 24 August. Open: the marked trails, the Arboretum, Anjungan Garugiwa, Mesbah Pati Ka and the summit viewpoint. CLOSED: the Tiwu Ata Polo lake viewpoint. Visitors are also forbidden within 6 to 10 metres of the crater rim at the Kawah I crack because of landslide risk, must stay inside the boundary markers, and are told to stay alert to aftershocks and follow rangers' instructions.
Two sources agreeing. The Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, was reported on 24 August saying Gua Rangko "kembali beroperasi setelah sarana dan prasarananya dinyatakan aman". Our own guide in Labuan Bajo confirmed it open on the morning of 25 August. The cave was never damaged; it was shut as a precaution on 17 August while Batu Cermin stayed open.
