Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Yogyakarta
- Upon your arrival at Yogyakarta airport, the driver will be waiting to greet you. The driver will drop you off at your chosen accommodation, where you can unwind and settle in after your journey. The journey from the airport to the hotel will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, allowing you to catch glimpses of Yogyakarta’s vibrant streets and lush landscapes along the way. Once you’ve checked in, take some time to relax.
Day 2: Yogyakarta City Tour – Prambanan and Borobodur
- After breakfast at your hotel, embark on a full day of exploration, starting with a visit to the iconic Borobudur Temple. As the largest Buddhist temple in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Borobudur is a masterpiece of architecture and spirituality.
- Continue to the heart of Yogyakarta to explore Keraton Yogyakarta, also known as the Sultan’s Palace. Step back in time as you wander through this grand complex steeped in Javanese royal history and culture. Visit the Water Castle, a unique architectural marvel within the Taman Sari complex. Discover its hidden chambers, bathing pools, and lush gardens, imagining life within the walls of this mystical place.
- Afterward, stroll along Malioboro Street, the bustling heart of Yogyakarta’s shopping and entertainment district. Browse through colorful markets, sample local delicacies, and soak in the lively atmosphere as you mingle with locals.
- Your day concludes with a visit to the magnificent Prambanan Temple, a masterpiece of Hindu architecture dedicated to the Trimurti, the three main Hindu deities. Explore its towering spires and intricately carved reliefs, marveling at the timeless beauty of this ancient wonder.
Note: Please note that Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, and Keraton Yogyakarta are closed on Monday. Plan your itinerary accordingly.
Day 3: Yogyakarta – Bromo (By Train)
- On your final day in Yogyakarta, savor a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. The driver will pick you up from the hotel and you will continue the journey to Jombang / Mojokerta by train. Then by private car you will go to your hotel located on the slopes of the Bromo volcano. In total, it will be about 8 hours of travel. Check-in at the hotel for a well deserved rest.
Day 4: Mount Bromo Tour
- Today, we set off early to catch the first light breaking over the majestic Mount Bromo. The guide will pick you up at the hotel by Jeep. o to the slopes of the volcano, climb to the edge to see the crater, go up to a high point first in the dark & the first rays of the sun give way to an indescribable caldera that makes up the entire view of the Bromo and Semeru Natural Park. Return to the hotel to refresh yourself and enjoy your breakfast. Continue the journey to Ijen. It will take about 7-8 hours to drive with a stop along the way to eat.
Day 5: Trekking Ijen – TRansfer to Bali
- Wake up to another day of adventure! Today, we’ll explore the enchanting Ijen Crater. Get ready for a jaw-dropping sight as we witness the mesmerizing blue fire and soak in the beauty of the sunrise. For this climb, you can choose between two schedules. Leave early to see the blue fire (leave the hotel around 1.30 am) or leave more calmly only for sunrise (around 4 am). Please decide one day before and let the guide know. Once we pick you up from your hotel, you will head towards the village of Licin to get to the side of the volcano to start the upward slope to the crater. During this trekking, your guide will give you double filter masks to protect you from natural sulfur chemicals. Enjoy the sunrise at an altitude of 2883 meters. You will see the local workers, what is said to be one of the hardest jobs in the world. These miners go down to the crater to load 80 to 100 kilos of sulfur on their shoulders and then sell it. After enjoying the sunrise, we’ll go to the hotel and have breakfast. Continue the trip to Bali by car and ferry. It will take about 4-5 hours to drive, depending on where your hotel is.
