Itinerary
Day 1: Labuan Bajo – Rumah Tenun – Cunca Plias Waterfall – Waerebo Lodge
Begin your adventure with a pick-up from Labuan Bajo, followed by a visit to Rumah Tenun Baku Peduli Labuan Bajo, where you can learn about traditional weaving techniques and see beautifully crafted fabrics made by local artisans. Continue to Cunca Plias Waterfall, where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the cascading waters. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue your journey to the lodge near Waerebo, where you’ll spend the night. Dinner will be provided, giving you time to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Day 2: Trekking to Waerebo Village
After breakfast, set off on a drive to the starting point for your trek to Waerebo Village. A short ojek ride takes you partway, followed by a 2-3 hour guided trek through lush forest paths. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with lunch and have time to immerse yourself in the village’s traditional way of life. Spend the night in one of the local homes, where dinner and breakfast will also be served.
Day 3: Waerebo – Spider Web Ricefields – Hobbit Cave – Rana Mese Lake (optional) – Bajawa
After trekking down from Waerebo Village, your first stop will be the Spider Web Rice Fields, an extraordinary patchwork of rice paddies arranged in a unique circular pattern, a traditional layout known locally as lingko. This fascinating design is not only beautiful but also reflects the communal land division system of the Manggarai people.
Next, visit the Hobbit Cave (Liang Bua), an archaeological site where the remains of Homo floresiensis — a small hominid species nicknamed “the Hobbit” — were discovered. This cave offers both historical intrigue and stunning natural rock formations.
If time permits, stop at Rana Mese Lake, a serene crater lake surrounded by lush rainforest. The calm waters and cool mountain air make it a perfect place to pause and take in the peaceful atmosphere.
Enjoy lunch at a local spot before continuing to Bajawa, a charming highland town known for its cool climate, traditional villages, and stunning mountain scenery. Here, you’ll spend the night and enjoy a hearty dinner.
Day 4: Bajawa – Riung – Hot Spring
After breakfast, we’ll visit a traditional village in Bajawa known for its unique thatched-roof houses arranged in terraces. Next, depart for Riung, a coastal village famed for its marine beauty. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the nearby hot springs, rejuvenating in the natural warm waters. After lunch at a local spot, settle in for the evening with dinner and a peaceful night’s rest.
Day 5: Riung 17 Islands Marine Park – Drive to Kelimutu
Spend the day on a private boat tour of Riung’s 17 Islands Marine Park, where you can snorkel, explore the islands, and enjoy pristine beaches. Lunch will be served during the trip. In the afternoon, drive to Kelimutu, where you’ll stay the night. Dinner will be served, allowing you to rest up for the next day’s adventure.
Day 6: Kelimutu National Park – Blue Stone Beach
Rise early for a hike in Kelimutu National Park, home to the legendary three-colored crater lakes whose hues shift with the seasons. Perched high on Mount Kelimutu and surrounded by misty forest, the lakes glow beautifully in the soft light of sunrise — a moment that feels almost otherworldly. Along the way, you might spot rare birds and enjoy sweeping views of Flores’s rugged landscape.
Afterwards, step into the timeless charm of Saga Traditional Village, where steep-roof houses encircle a central courtyard and locals keep the Lio heritage alive through weaving and ceremonies. End the journey with lunch at Blue Stone Beach, where waves meet a shore covered in smooth stones of turquoise, blue, and green, sparkling against the black sand — a picture-perfect spot to relax before continuing your adventure.
Day 7: Drive to Ende Airport
On the final day, take a leisurely drive to Ende Airport for your departure, completing your 7-day journey across the beautiful landscapes of Flores.
