Diving Around Bangka Archipelago

The Bangka Archipelago offers the perfect blend of wall diving similar to Bunaken and muck diving reminiscent of Lembeh Strait. With over 40 diverse dive sites just 5-30 minutes from Bastianos Bangka Dive Resort, underwater explorers can experience:

  • Healthy soft and hard coral reefs
  • Underwater pinnacles and walls
  • Mysterious caves and passages
  • Productive muck diving sites
  • Our spectacular house reef, ideal for drift diving

The species list runs from reef fish and macro critters to turtles, with dolphins and dugongs passing through. The local guides are very good at finding what is hiding.

On longer stays there are excursions to Talise Island, where the dive sites see almost no one.

Diving is available year-round, with March to June offering generally dry conditions, July to October bringing windier weather, and November to February marking the rainy season. Each season provides unique diving opportunities in this uncrowded North Sulawesi gem.

Bastianos Divers, a certified PADI Dive Center (R-34063) since 2004, features an experienced team of local dive professionals. The guides, all native to Manado, Bangka Island, Bunaken Island, and surrounding areas, possess intimate knowledge of local dive conditions and exceptional spotting abilities underwater.
