Coral Farming Course in Amed

Coral Farming Course in Amed

The reefs at Amed hold a mix of hard and soft corals and support a lot of marine life. This course is built around coral farming: growing young corals and transplanting them onto damaged sections of reef so they can recover. You learn how it works, then do it.

During your diving adventure, you’ll learn to identify different coral species, understand their growth forms, and explore how corals reproduce. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with coral restoration techniques at a real coral farm, which is a great way to contribute to their recovery.

What Will You Learn?

  • Coral Identification: Learn to spot different types of corals by their shape and growth patterns.
  • Hard vs. Soft Corals: Find out how to tell hard corals from soft corals by counting their tentacles.
  • Understanding Polyps: Discover the tiny creatures, called polyps, that make up corals.
  • Coral Reproduction: Understand how corals reproduce and create new corals.
  • Coral Restoration: Get hands-on experience in growing and restoring corals at a real coral farm.
