Amed, located on Bali’s northeastern coast, is renowned for its serene atmosphere and excellent diving conditions. And Tulamben, situated just a short drive from Amed is known for its unique dive sites, particularly the famous USAT Liberty wreck.

The Open Water Diver course is the first step for anyone interested in scuba diving, teaching you the skills and confidence to dive up to 18 meters (60 feet). After completing the course, you will receive your PADI or SSI certification, allowing you to explore underwater worlds. If you already have an open water certification, you can advance with the Advanced Open Water course. Which lets you dive deeper and handle different environments with more confidence.

For those short on time or unsure about committing to the full course, you can go for the half-day discover scuba diving program. An instructor will guide you through basic equipment handling and skills, then take you on an ocean dive up to 12 meters deep.

Discover Scuba Diving (Half Day)

New to diving and curious about taking the plunge? Discover Scuba Diving is perfect for those who want to dip their toes into diving without committing to a full course. Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. The duration of the try scuba diving experience is around 4 hours or half day. It’s an ideal way to experience the underwater world and decide if diving is right for you, all in a short session.

Open Water (3 Days)

The Open Water Diver course includes theory sessions where you learn dive principles, equipment use, and safety procedures. In confined water settings, you practice essential skills like buoyancy control and mask clearing. Then, in open water dives, you apply these skills under the guidance of an instructor, gaining confidence and exploring marine environments. Successful completion earns you certification to dive independently.

  • Day 1: Theory learning in the morning. Read the books and watch the videos, confined water skills and waterborne assessment in the swimming pool at afternoon.
  • Day 2: Open water dive 1 and 2 in the morning,  theory exams at afternoon. (If confined water skills has not been completed in the first day, then the next day will continue the remaining courses in the pool.)
  • Day 3: Open waters dive 3 and 4.

Advanced Open Water (2 Days)

The Advanced Open Water Diver course takes place over 2 days with 5 dives. Tailored for divers who already hold an Open Water Diver license. You’ll start with essential dives in deep diving and underwater navigation. Then, you can choose three more dives based on your interests and local conditions. Like improving buoyancy, identifying marine life, exploring drift currents, or experiencing night dives. After completing these dives and related knowledge reviews, you’ll graduate from the course with enhanced diving skills and certification.

Diving in Amed and Tulamben

Amed, located on Bali’s northeastern coast, offers a serene and picturesque setting for scuba diving. Expect clear visibility, usually ranging from 15 to 30 meters, and gentle currents that make diving here comfortable and enjoyable. You’ll explore colorful coral gardens, encounter schools of tropical fish, and discover fascinating macro creatures like pygmy seahorses and nudibranchs.
