A snorkeling day trip to Nusa Penida, one of the best places to snorkel in Indonesia: clear water, healthy coral, and a lot of marine life.

The trip starts with a 45-minute boat ride from Bali, along the coast and up to the cliffs of Nusa Penida. The main stop is Manta Point, where manta rays come in to a cleaning station. You can get very close to them. They are large and entirely harmless.

Crystal Bay is the second stop, with clear water, coral gardens and the occasional turtle. The shallows there are good for looking at hard and soft corals up close. Other sites on the route include Toyapakeh, Mangrove and SD Point, each with its own mix of reef fish and coral.

Lunch is served on the boat. On the way back to Bali, dolphins often follow along for part of the crossing.

Trip Schedule

7 am – Pickup at your accommodation in south Bali (time may vary depending on your location)
8 am – Boat leaves for Nusa Penida (around 50 minutes to reach first snorkeling site)
12.30 pm – Lunch onboard
16.00 pm – Return back to Sanur
