Scuba Diving Day Trip in Komodo

The Komodo National Park is famous for its stunning underwater life and Komodo dragons. If you don’t have the time or the budget to go on a liveaboard trip, these scuba diving day trips are the next best thing!

You will join of a small group of 4to 5 divers to ensure a personalized and safe experience with expert guides. The boat will take you to the best dive sites based on your skill level and the sea conditions. Each ride to a new spot taking about 45 to 90 minutes, offering scenic views along the way. With water temperatures between 25 and 30°C, expect thrilling drift dives, vibrant coral gardens, and sightings of manta rays, sharks and many schooling fishes.

Komodo offers a variety of diving spots that can suits every diver’s skills. For beginners, spots like Tatawa Besar offer calm waters and colorful reefs teeming with marine life, making it perfect for relaxed exploration and skill-building underwater.

Advanced divers can test their skills at challenging sites like Batu Bolong and Castle Rock, known for their vibrant coral walls and encounters with sharks and majestic manta rays amidst strong currents.

Besides diving, visit Rinca Island to see Komodo dragons and enjoy panoramic views from the boat. After finishing all the diving trips, the boat will take you back to the harbor in Labuan Bajo. This adventure promises an unforgettable dive into Komodo’s underwater world.

Trip Schedule

• Meeting Time: 07:00 AM
• Boat Ride: Scenic trip to Komodo National Park
• Morning Snacks: Enjoy doughnuts, bananas, and chai while getting to know your fellow divers and the team
• Dive site briefing: the topography, what kind of marine life you may find, whether if it will be a drift dive or not, dive time, max depth and estimated temperature.
• Dive and Overland Trip: 2 or 3 dives, depend on the package chosen
• Lunch: Freshly-cooked hot lunch after the second dive by onboard chef
• Return: Approximately 18:00 PM back to Labuan Bajo

Good to know

• To ensure the safest experience possible, we strictly limit our groups to a maximum of 4 guests (2 buddy pairs) who will be allocated per Divemaster/Instructor.
• Dive site selection rotated every 3 to 4 days based on diver certification levels and experience. Adjusted for tidal conditions and focused on safety and suitability for all levels of divers.
• If you skip the 3rd dive, bring a book and enjoy the stunning scenery while relaxing on the boat whilst the other guests complete the last dive of the day.

Best Time to Dive at Komodo National Park

The best time for scuba diving in Komodo National Park is during the dry season from April to November. This period offers calm seas, excellent visibility exceeding 30 meters, and optimal conditions to explore the park’s vibrant marine life and stunning coral reefs. Avoid diving during the monsoon season from December to March, as rough seas and reduced visibility can impact diving conditions.
