Komodo National Park Fees 2026: Complete Guide to Entry, Diving and Ranger Costs

Last updated: March 2026

⚠️ Fee Update Notice β€” March 2026
Multiple operators in Labuan Bajo are reporting a new consolidated fee structure for 2026, replacing the current itemised fees with a single bundled ticket of IDR 650,000 per person (Komodo Island route) or IDR 900,000 (Rinca Island route). These figures are widely circulated among local operators but have not yet been officially announced by park authorities (BTNK). We are monitoring the situation closely and will update this page as soon as official confirmation is available. In the meantime, the figures below reflect the last officially published fee structure.

Visiting Komodo National Park means budgeting for several fees β€” park entry, ranger services, harbour, and activity-specific surcharges. The structure has multiple components, and costs vary depending on your itinerary, group size, and whether you’re diving or snorkeling.

Here’s a full breakdown of the current official fees.

Park Entry: Marine Park Ticket

All visitors entering Komodo National Park pay a daily marine park ticket, whether you’re diving, snorkeling, cruising, or visiting the islands.

Visitor typeFee
International visitorsIDR 250,000 per person, per day
Domestic visitors (Mon–Sat)IDR 50,000 per person, per day
Domestic visitors (Sun / public holiday)IDR 75,000 per person, per day

For multi-day liveaboard trips, the fee applies per person for each day spent inside the park. If your trip ends in the morning of the final day, that day is generally not counted.

Harbour Fee

A harbour fee is charged per person when entering the port at Labuan Bajo.

Trip typeFee
Day tripsIDR 25,000 per person, per day
Liveaboards (multi-day)IDR 25,000 per person, once for the full trip

Some operators include this in their package price. Others list it separately. Always ask for a full breakdown before booking.

Diving Surcharge

Scuba divers pay an additional fee on top of the standard park ticket.

FeeAmount
Diving surchargeIDR 25,000 per diver, per day

Total daily cost for divers: IDR 300,000 (marine park ticket + diving surcharge + harbour fee).

Snorkelers and non-diving visitors pay only the marine park ticket and harbour fee.

Ranger Fees (Island Treks)

A licensed park ranger must accompany all visitors on land at Komodo Island, Rinca Island, and Padar Island. The ranger fee is shared between up to 5 guests in a group.

LocationRanger fee (per group of up to 5)
Padar Island trekkingIDR 150,000
Komodo Island (Komodo dragons)IDR 200,000
Rinca Island (Komodo dragons)IDR 200,000

Smaller groups pay the same flat fee, so the per-person cost is higher for pairs or solo travellers.

Drone Permit

Flying a drone inside the park requires a permit and advance application β€” allow up to 3 days for processing.

FeeAmount
Drone permitIDR 2,000,000 per unit, per day

The 2026 Visitor Quota: What’s Changed

Komodo National Park, Indonesia - 2026 visitor quota

Starting April 1, 2026, Komodo National Park is capped at 1,000 visitors per day across the entire park. All visits must be pre-booked through the official SiOra application β€” there are no walk-in tickets.

This applies to everyone: day-trippers, liveaboard passengers, divers, snorkelers, and land visitors alike. Your operator manages the permit process and must register all guests in advance with passport details (name, gender, passport number, nationality).

Peak season slots β€” July through October especially β€” are filling months ahead. Plan early.

For the full picture on how the quota works and what it means for your trip, read our dedicated guide: Komodo National Park 2026: New Visitor Quota β€” What You Need to Know

Why These Fees Exist

Park fees fund Komodo dragon habitat protection, marine conservation (coral reefs, manta rays, turtles), ranger salaries, and community development around the park. The quota system is an extension of that same conservation mandate, limiting visitor numbers to keep the ecosystem functional long-term.

Planning Your Komodo Trip

Not sure what’s included in your tour price? Most liveaboard operators bundle park fees into the total; day-trip operators often list them separately. Ask before you book.
