Bali’s rice fields are a captivating visual symbol of the island, offering endless photographic opportunities. The never-ending rice fields with volcanoes in the background are something you will find here.

The picturesque rice terraces in Bali owe their existence to the Subak system, a complex organization dating back to the 9th century. This intricate irrigation network efficiently manages the flow of water into the rice paddies. At its core, the Subak system is guided by the principle of Tri Hita Karana. Tri Hita Karana is an ancient philosophy that guides life in Bali, Indonesia. Its literal meaning is “the three sources of well-being” or “the three factors of prosperity”.
