Itinerary

Bali-Komodo-Bali with Whale Sharks of Saleh Bay | 10 Days / 9 Nights | ~26 Dives

DAY 1

Board at Benoa Harbour between 13:00 and 15:00. Safety briefing, equipment setup. Overnight cruise to Moyo Island.
Dives: 0

DAY 2

Three dives at Angel Reef (Moyo Island), Satonda Island macro dive, night dive after sunset bat flights.
Dives: 3

DAY 3

Sangeang Volcano (black sand), Gili Banta, Komodo NP northern islands (Gili Lawa Laut/Darat). Afternoon and night dive.
Dives: 4

DAY 4

Four dives around Gili Lawa Laut: Taka Toko (grey reef sharks), Lighthouse Reef, The Old Passage, Crystal Rock. Evening dive at Pink Beach or Soro Lia.

DAY 5

Komodo dragon land excursion at Loh Liang. Three dives at Horseshoe Bay and Cannibal Rock (Rinca Island). Night dive option.

DAY 6

Manta Alley, Tatawa Kecil, Batu Bolong (“Current City”). Night dive at Wainilu.
Dives: 4

DAY 7

Four dives around central and northern Komodo NP. Night dive at Gili Banta. Overnight cruise to Sangeang Volcano.

DAY 8

Two dives at Sangeang Volcano. Cruise toward Saleh Bay for the whale shark encounter.

DAY 9

One dive plus approximately 3 hours diving and snorkeling with whale sharks at Saleh Bay (06:30 start). Return cruise to Benoa.

DAY 10

Disembark at Benoa Harbour after breakfast at 08:00.

The Mermaid I sails from Bali to Komodo, Raja Ampat, Ambon, the Banda Sea, Alor, Halmahera, Sulawesi, the Forgotten Islands and the Ring of Fire.

The Boat

Relax in style aboard Mermaid I spacious cabins. The boat can accommodate up to 15 guests. Choose from a range of options, including the Master Cabin with a king-size bed, cozy Single Cabin, Deluxe Cabins (king size or twin beds), and Lower Deck Cabins (double/twin beds).

All cabins boast ensuite bathrooms, panoramic sea views, modern amenities, air conditioning, iPads for entertainment, toiletries, and towels.

The dive setup includes two exit ladders, freshwater showers and camera rinse tanks. NITROX is available.

Meals are Asian and Western, served in the Sawasdee Restaurant with ocean views. There are 2 outside decks and a sundeck with cushioned sun beds, plus a saloon with a multimedia system and a reading library.

2026 refit

New main engines and generators. The work started in June 2026 and finished in early September.
Individual air conditioning in the lower deck cabins. Fitting it removed the old duct, which is the part that matters: the ceiling is higher and there is more room over the single bunk. The rest of the main deck and the saloon follow in June 2027.
Sundeck lounge. Back support cushions added, alongside the twelve sunbeds.
Party deck rebuilt, with a new barbecue and rattan ceilings.
