Kadidiri Paradise Resort and Dive Center

Located on a beautiful white sand beach overlooking the clear turquoise waters of Tomini Bay, Kadidiri Paradise Resort and Dive Center has been a welcoming retreat in the Togean Islands for over two decades. It was the first hotel in the region. The bungalows are wooden, some on the beach and some over the water, and the atmosphere is laid back. Its position makes the rest of the Togean Islands easy to reach.

There are dozens of dive and snorkel sites around the resort. You can snorkel straight off the beach in front, or take a boat to the spots further out. The 78-metre jetty is where people watch the sunset. The resort has the largest beach on the island, a garden of tropical trees, and a lagoon that suits snorkelling and freediving. The restaurant serves local and European food, and the bar is the only one on the island.

Getting to Kadidiri Paradise Resort

Reaching Kadidiri Paradise Resort involves an adventurous journey to the heart of the Togean Islands, located in the Gulf of Tomini off the coast of Central Sulawesi. The Togeans are remote, and all transportation is weather-dependent, so plan your trip accordingly. The main entry point to the Togean Islands is the harbor in Wakai. From Wakai, you can travel by boat to almost any island in the archipelago. Kadidiri Paradise Resort can assist in arranging a direct boat transfer from the harbor to the resort.

To get to Wakai, you can choose from two main gateways: Gorontalo to the north or Ampana to the south. If flying into Gorontalo, you can catch a flight from Jakarta, Makassar, or other major Indonesian cities to Jalaluddin Airport in Gorontalo. From the airport, you can travel by road to the harbor and then take a boat to Wakai. Alternatively, if you are traveling from the western or central parts of Sulawesi, Ampana is typically the better choice. The gateway you select depends on your previous travel plans and available flights.

Diving at Kadidiri Island

Kadidiri Island has several good dive sites, including coral gardens, gentle sloping reefs and more broken-up underwater terrain. Dive sites like the Kadidiri Reef offer colorful coral formations and abundant marine life just a short boat ride away from the island. For those interested in macro life, the reefs around Kadidiri are home to fascinating critters like nudibranchs and mantis shrimp.

Kadidiri Island benefits from generally excellent visibility, often exceeding 30 meters (100 feet). Water temperatures run from 27°C to 30°C (81°F to 86°F) through the year. The island is remote enough that the dive sites stay quiet. Bajau communities live nearby, and you may see something of their seafaring life while you are here.
