Kri Eco Resort

Kri Eco Resort, part of Papua Diving’s pioneering operations in Raja Ampat, is one of the region’s first dedicated dive resorts , a place built with purpose, tradition, and a deep respect for its environment. Papua Diving is deeply committed to protecting Raja Ampat’s ecosystem and supporting the surrounding communities. Their conservation program focuses on reef protection, sustainable diving practices, and long-term environmental monitoring.

The resort sits on the shore of Kri Island, built in rustic Papuan style, with simple overwater cottages directly above some of the richest reef anywhere. It is set up for divers and for anyone who wants an island without a resort strip on it.

Accommodations

Papuan Water Cottage 

A traditional bungalow built in local Papuan style. Compact, simple, and as close to the island as you can sleep.

Superior Water Cottage

A cottage over the water with direct access to the sea. Simple and comfortable, which is what you want after a day of diving.

Deluxe Water Cottage

Upgraded over-water bungalow with en-suite bathroom, more comfort, and direct ocean views. Ideal for those who want a mix of adventure and comfort while staying close to Raja Ampat’s reefs.

Dive Centre

Papua Diving’s Dive Centre is the reason most people come. It runs tailored dive schedules, small-group trips, speciality courses and proper briefings, led by local dive masters who have worked these reefs for years. Many of the sites are minutes away by boat, so more of the day is spent underwater than in transit.

Activities

• Scuba Diving: the dive sites around Kri Island are among the best documented in the world. Local dive masters lead small groups over the reefs.
• Snorkelling: shallow reef a few steps from the resort, suitable at any level, with hard coral and schooling fish.
• Kayaking: calm, clear water at your own pace, best at sunrise or sunset along the coastline and the bays nearby.
• Stand-Up Paddle boarding (SUP): Glide over turquoise waters and observe the reef from above. A peaceful way to enjoy the ocean while staying close to shore.
• Island Excursions: Join guided trips to nearby islands, wildlife spots, and scenic viewpoints. Discover birdlife, quiet beaches, and the natural beauty that surrounds Raja Ampat.
• Nature Walks: the interior of the island holds plants and animals found nowhere else, including the birds of paradise this region is known for.
