Moyo Island Resort

Moyo Island Resort

Moyo Island Resort is a small, family-run beachfront property on Pulau Moyo, just off the north coast of Sumbawa.

It sits at the quiet end of the village, away from other accommodation, directly on the water with coral visible right off the beach. Three simple room types, all beachfront, all with a private balcony facing the sea.

Moyo Island itself is a protected nature reserve: jungle interior, a coastline ringed with reef, and Mata Jitu, the waterfall locals call “Lady Diana Waterfall” after her visit in 1993. The resort runs its own boat for snorkeling trips, fishing, waterfall picnics, and day trips to Satonda’s volcanic crater lake or the traditional village of Sebotok.

Rooms

All three room types sleep 2 and share the same beachfront setup: private balcony, sea view, private bathroom. The difference is cooling and bed configuration.

Activities

  • Snorkeling and diving: good conditions year round, best April to November. The reef starts right off the beach, and the resort’s boat runs trips further out.
  • Mata Jitu waterfall picnic: a half-day trip to the island’s most famous spot, cascading turquoise pools in the jungle interior.
  • Island trips: Satonda’s volcanic crater lake, or a village visit to Sebotok.
  • Home-cooked breakfast included, served with an ocean view.
