The week mixes adrenaline and easy diving: current-fed cleaning stations and ridges at sites like Cape Kri, Sardine Reef, Blue Magic and Mioskon, manta rays at the Dampier mantas, and relaxed, colour-saturated dives under the jetties at Arborek and Sawandarek. Eighteen dives across six diving days cover the full range, from drift dives to slow macro and wide-angle photography.

The diving

This is classic Dampier Strait diving out of Sorong. Expect strong, fish-pulling currents on the exposed reefs, schooling fusiliers and snappers, reef sharks, turtles, and the chance of manta rays at the cleaning stations. The sheltered jetty dives are a photographer’s favourite, with wobbegongs, pygmy seahorses and dense soft coral. Full day-by-day itinerary available on request.

The New White Manta is one of our favorite luxury liveaboard for Raja Ampat and Komodo dive trips.

The New White Manta is one of the largest purpose-built RINA CLASS dive vessels in the region, 46m (150 ft) by 10m (30 ft), steel hulled, taking up to 24 guests depending on the destination. The 14 en-suite cabins average 20sqm (200sf) each. There is an open alfresco dining area outside and an air-conditioned dining room inside.

With maximum comfort and safety in mind, the New White Manta is well equipped with safety facilities, cruises at 10 knots and the steel hull makes her an ideal vessel for long-haul cruises and blue water crossing trips.

The New White Manta will take up to 24 guests depending on the destination and if booked as a full charter. There are 14 beautifully furnished en-suite cabins, each average 20sqm (200sf) in size comprising of twin/double or triple share cabins.

The steel hull is built for heavy sea conditions and is steadier than a wooden boat. At 10m wide and 580 tons, she holds her line in swell.
