Misool Resort Raja Ampat

Misool is a private island resort in southern Raja Ampat, built around a marine reserve the owners set up themselves. The island sits in an uninhabited archipelago, 165 km (105 miles) from the nearest port, with the closest village a 20 km boat ride away.

The resort finds themselves enveloped by the most beautiful coral reefs on earth, located at the heart of marine biodiversity.

The Resort

The resort takes 40 guests at a time, with four staff to every guest. Trips are built around what you want to do rather than a fixed programme.

The rooms are designed for your comfort, privacy, and the environment. They’re spacious and well-ventilated, scattered around our private island’s unique rocky landscape. You’ll love the Balinese-style open-air bathrooms, wall fans, and air-conditioning units. Enjoy refreshing hot and cold showers, mini-bars full of local treats, and handcrafted furniture.

The Water Cottages stand on stilts above the North Lagoon. In the same area, there’s the larger North Lagoon Villas. The North Lagoon is home to The Restaurant and The Hive.

Over at South Beach, 7 villas look out at the blue water swimming hole, with jungle behind them. If you’re up for a short walk, you’ll reach the Dive Centre, Restaurant, and North Lagoon rooms, treating your eyes to spectacular 270-degree views along the way. Alternatively, you can radio for a Water Taxi (available most of the times, except low tides).

Dining

The restaurant sits on the beach looking over the North Lagoon, with a round roof under the coconut palms that keeps it cool through the middle of the day. The terrace is where people end up in the evening, watching baby sharks and long toms work through the sardine schools. There is seating for couples and for groups, and meal times are staggered when the resort is full.

The restaurant has various Asian and Western dishes, prioritizing fresh, local, and organic ingredients. You can enjoy four meals daily along with afternoon tea on the terrace. Indulge in freshly baked goodies like lemon and cardamom biscotti or island-style banana fritters with shaved white chocolate.

You’ll always find tea, Papuan coffee, fresh juice, and water ready for you. The restaurant also offers a choice of imported beer, wine, and champagne.
