Nunukan Island Resort
Nunukan Island Resort sits on Maratua Island in East Borneo, on an atoll that takes a boat ride and a bit of planning to reach. That is most of its appeal.
The boat leaves from Berau every Wednesday and Saturday, around lunchtime and no later than 3pm. The crossing from the east coast of Borneo takes about 3 hours. The return boat runs every Thursday and Saturday at 8am.
The Accommodation
The resort has 22 bungalows. Each has a hot shower, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, a fridge and a safety box.
Each bungalow has a private balcony, which is where the sunset happens.
Nunukan Island Resort offers two options for your stay to suit your preferences:
- The Half Board rate includes breakfast, fresh juice, tea or coffee, and a four-course dinner.
- The Full Board stay is perfect for those who prefer to savor every moment. It features the same delightful breakfast, juices, and beverages as the Half Board package. In addition, you will get a three-course lunch and a four-course dinner.
One of the main draws of Maratua Island is its incredible underwater world. Nunukan Island Resort has something special to offer for diving enthusiasts. The resort offers diving packages to cater to all skill levels, no matter if you’re a seasonal diver or a beginner in underwater exploration.
