Destination Highlights

Raja Ampat: The Four Kings of the Coral Triangle

Raja Ampat means “Four Kings” in Indonesian, named after its four main islands: Waigeo, Batanta, Salawati, and Misool. This region sits at the center of the Coral Triangle and is known for its unmatched marine biodiversity.

Misool: Southern Marine Sanctuary

Misool offers some of the healthiest reefs in Indonesia, protected and remote. Expect coral walls, pinnacles, and unique sites including Love Lagoon and Jellyfish Lake. This is also where you may encounter the walking shark.

Dampier Strait: Where Big Fish Gather

Dampier Strait is known for strong currents and high fish density. Expect manta rays, reef sharks, and schooling pelagics, along with unique land visits such as the flying fox beach.

Itinerary

Day 1

Guests meet in Waisai harbour at 11:00–11:30 for boarding, check-in to Jaya, cabin allocation, and dive equipment setup. Overnight cruise to Misool.

Day 2

Three dives in Misool including check dive.

Day 3

Three dives in Misool with an afternoon visit to Love Lagoon.

Day 4

Two dives in Misool followed by a visit to Jellyfish Lake. Overnight cruise to Penemu.

Day 5

Three dives around Penemu with a hike to the lagoon viewpoint.

Day 6

Four dives in Gam region.

Day 7

Three dives in Dampier Strait with a beach visit to see flying foxes.

Day 8

Three dives in Dampier Strait. Night dive optional.

Day 9

Final dives with Jaya liveaboard and return to Waisai harbour around 11:30–12:00. Guests can take the 14:00 ferry back to Sorong.

Certification Requirements

Open Water Diver (OWD) or equivalent
This trip is suitable for certified divers, including beginners
Some dive sites may involve currents, so a basic level of comfort in the water is recommended

The Jaya sails seasonally through Komodo and Raja Ampat.

With a length of 23 meters, the Jaya Liveaboard can accommodate up to 14 guests in its 7 comfortable cabins. The boat has 4 twin cabins with 2 shared bathrooms, and 3 double rooms with ensuite bathrooms. No matter your choice, you will find your room equipped with air-conditioning, power sockets, freshwater showers, and toiletries to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The Jaya has a lot of outdoor space. The upper deck is shaded, with room to lounge, nap and dine. The sun deck above it is more secluded.

The Jaya Liveaboard provides a dive deck, here you can easily access your equipment with tank spaces around the edge. The central area provides storage for fins and masks, hanging space for wetsuits, and freshwater containers designed for torches and cameras.

The 8 crew members on board are all experienced to ensure your diving experience is as safe and enjoyable as possible. You will explore some of the world’s most diverse marine ecosystems.
