Alor Divers
Alor Divers Resort runs along a 400-metre sandy beach on Pantar Island, 20 minutes by boat from Alor Kecil. The buildings are open-air, which makes for warm days and cool evenings. Alor is one of the strongest dive destinations in eastern Indonesia, and it suits divers at every level.
The resort takes part in marine conservation work on the reefs around Alor, and asks guests to dive responsibly. Keeping the reefs in condition is what keeps the diving worth the journey.

Scuba Diving with Alor Divers
The Alor archipelago holds over 40 dive sites and a long list of snorkelling spots. The reefs carry hard and soft coral, sponges and anemones, and the species list runs from Rhinopias, blue ring octopus and harlequin shrimp up to hammerhead and thresher sharks. Blue whales pass through in season, and turtles nest on the beaches. There are rock formations, coral walls and muck diving sites. When conditions allow, the house reef is worth a night dive.
The Resort offers two daily boat dives/snorkeling outings and unlimited access to the 900-meter house reef. The schedule is flexible and can be arranged to set the best dive times and sites based on tides, currents, and marine life. Boat dives are usually in the morning and afternoon, with house reef access afterward. On days with tricky currents or distant sites, Alor Divers provides double morning dives and early afternoon house reef dives. Guests also can customize a dive schedule for group of minimum 4 divers/snorkelers.
Getting to Alor Divers Resort
Traveling to Alor Divers Resort is straightforward with daily flights from Jakarta, and connections from Bali and other Indonesian cities with an overnight stay in Kupang (return flights can be made in one day). To ensure smooth diving operations and resort logistics, we follow this schedule:
- Free Transfers: Available on Wednesdays and Sundays for scheduled arrivals and departures.
- Recommended Flights Between Kupang and Alor (Daily):
- Arrival: 09:10 – Wings Air IW1943
- Departure: 09:30 – Wings Air IW1942
- Non-Scheduled Transfers: A 105 USD surcharge per way for arrivals or departures on other days.
A driver meets you at Alor airport. It is a 40-minute drive, then a 20-minute boat crossing of the Pantar Strait to the resort.
Best Time to Visit
Alor Divers Resort welcomes guests from mid-March to mid-December, the prime season for exceptional underwater visibility. Summer nights are dry and cool, so bring a light jacket. From June to October there is little or no rain, which keeps the mosquitoes away. The sea can be choppy in those months, but most dive sites stay protected.
