Update (October 2025): Scoot Launches New Direct Flights to Komodo
Following Jetstar Asia’s withdrawal from Singapore routes in July 2025, Scoot Airlines has announced new direct flights from Singapore (SIN) to Labuan Bajo (Komodo – LBJ) starting 21 December 2025.

The route will operate twice weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) using Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, reconnecting Komodo with Singapore and offering a convenient new option for international travelers. This marks the return of direct international access to Komodo National Park, allowing visitors to fly straight into Labuan Bajo and easily connect onward to Bali or Lombok.

For travelers already in Indonesia, you can also check the Lombok–Labuan Bajo domestic flights here: https://www.oceanearthtravels.com/travel-tips/direct-flight-lombok-labuan-bajo/

If you’ve been meaning to explore Komodo but kept putting it off because of the flights – now’s the time. Jetstar just launched direct flights from Singapore to Komodo, and it’s a total game-changer.

Instead of routing through Bali or Jakarta, you can now fly straight into Labuan Bajo – the gateway to Komodo National Park – in just over three hours. Fewer stops, less hassle, and way more time doing what you actually came for.

Update (June 2025): Jetstar Asia to Cease Operations from July 31st
Please note that Jetstar Asia will stop all operations from July 31, 2025, including the direct route between Singapore and Komodo (Labuan Bajo).

If you’re planning to travel after this date, alternative routes via Bali (DPS) or Jakarta (CGK) will remain available.

For more information, you can refer to the official announcement from Jetstar or this Straits Times article.

The rest of this blog post remains relevant for travelers booking before July 31st, or looking into other ways to reach Komodo.

Why Komodo-Singapore Flights Change Everything

Let’s be real – Flores has always felt a little out of the way. Beautiful? Absolutely. Easy to get to? Not really.

But now, Komodo is weekend-trip accessible from Singapore. Flights run twice a week, which makes it ideal for a quick escape or as the starting point of a longer dive or cruising adventure.

This is the second international route to open to Labuan Bajo, following the launch of direct flights from Kuala Lumpur last year – another sign that Komodo is finally stepping out of the shadows and becoming more connected. While Bali and Jakarta are still great entry points, you’re no longer stuck with stopovers to get to the good stuff.

Labuan Bajo is where it all begins: diving, island hopping, liveaboard trips, and spotting Komodo dragons in the wild.

What’s waiting for you in Komodo

This isn’t your typical island destination. Here’s what you’re in for:

  • Some of Indonesia’s best dive sites, with insane biodiversity and crystal-clear visibility
  • Remote islands, pink sand beaches, dramatic hill hikes, and reef-filled bays
  • The chance to cruise through Komodo National Park on a traditional phinisi or modern yacht
  • Encounters with manta rays, reef sharks, turtles, and (if you’re lucky) dolphins or dugongs
  • And yes – the world’s largest lizard, the Komodo dragon

This part of Indonesia is raw, real, and still relatively under the radar. If you’re after something more than just another beach holiday, this is it.
