Jinggo Janggo

Jinggo Janggo is a traditional wooden phinisi boat built by skilled craftsmen in Bira, South Sulawesi, one of Indonesia’s most well-known boatbuilding regions. Inspired by centuries-old Bugis-Makassar design, these boats have been sailing Indonesian waters since the 15th century. Originally built in 2007 in Tanah Beru and fully renovated in 2023, Jinggo Janggo combines authentic character with a comfortable setup, offering a relaxed way to explore Komodo National Park on a private cruise.

Designed for families and small groups of up to 5 guests, every journey on board is flexible and personalized. The cruise director works closely with guests to shape each itinerary—whether it’s trekking on Padar Island, encountering Komodo dragons, relaxing on pink sand beaches, or diving into some of Komodo’s most vibrant underwater sites filled with manta rays, reef sharks, and turtles. With its relaxed atmosphere, spacious deck, and focus on experience over formality, Jinggo Janggo offers a simple yet memorable way to discover both the land and sea of Komodo.

The Cabins

The boat features two cozy double cabins, with one cabin designed to accommodate an additional single bed—making it ideal for up to five guests. The setup includes a shared bathroom, keeping things practical and in line with the boat’s relaxed concept. Onboard, you’ll also find comfortable lounging areas on deck, a dedicated space for diving activities, and a welcoming dining area where freshly prepared meals are served. For a more unique experience, guests can even choose to sleep under the stars on deck, adding a memorable touch to the journey.

Activities & Services

Scuba Diving

The Cruise Director and dive team organize two dives daily, tailored to your experience level. Early morning dives before breakfast are standard. Night dives available on request. Schedules adjust for tides and weather.

Paddling & Snorkeling

Paddle into coves and shallow bays inaccessible by boat. Explore hidden coastlines and spot wildlife up close. Encounter turtles, rays, and reef fish in shallow coral gardens. Open to all ages and experience levels.

Exploration & Trekking

Trek Komodo’s varied terrain—from lush valleys to rocky ridges. Routes range from 30-minute walks to full-day hikes. Spot Komodo dragons, monitor lizards, and endemic birds. Island exploration reveals the UNESCO World Heritage Site’s rich biodiversity both above and below water.

Beaches & Relaxation

Swim and sunbathe at secluded white-sand beaches. Clear waters ideal for cooling off between activities. Evenings include bonfire gatherings under the stars. Rest on deck with a book, cocktail, or simply watch the shoreline pass.

Dining

Indonesian classics (Nasi Goreng, Sate Ayam, Ikan Bakar) prepared daily. The chef accommodates dietary needs and offers international options alongside local dishes.
