Tambora
The Tambora sails to Raja Ampat, Halmahera, Lembeh, the Banda Sea, Wakatobi, the Togean islands and other spots away from the usual routes.
Trips run from 8 to 14 days depending on the route.
The Boat
The Tambora is a traditional Indonesian two-masted sailing ship, a Pinisi. She carries modern navigation and safety equipment.
Tambora has 8 guest suites, 2 doubles and 6 twins, so the group on board stays small.
Each suite has air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom, storage space and a panoramic window.
The communal areas are a lounge, a dining room, a sun deck and a dedicated camera room.
Scuba Diving Experience
Tambora has more than 15 years in the liveaboard diving business.
Tambora dives sites in Komodo, Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea and Sulawesi. The diver-to-guide ratio is four to one, and the dive masters and instructors run the dives with an eye on safety and on the reef.
The dive operation carries Nitrox and facilities for technical divers, plus dedicated space for camera maintenance and storage. The routes cover reef diving, manta sites and macro.
