Flappy Diver 2 is out, free on iPhone and Android. The first version, released last December, was a quick arcade game: tap, dodge, don’t run out of air. This one is a proper dive. You sink from the reef to the abyss in one go and build your own kit in an equipment room. You also dive five real sites in Bali, the island our team lives and dives on.
It is still a one-thumb game. Tap to swim up, let go to sink, watch your air. What changed is everything around that tap.

What is new in Flappy Diver 2
One dive, from the reef to the abyss
Each dive starts on a sunny coral reef, then sinks through open water, past a shipwreck and into the abyss, where your torch is the only light. The deeper you go, the faster you breathe, so your air runs out quicker at depth, as it does on a real dive. Turtles, mantas and schools of fish keep you company. Squid spray ink, jellyfish sting and sharks hunt.

The equipment room
The plastic bottles and bags you pick up on a dive are recycled into materials. You spend them in the equipment room on real gear across six slots: tank, regulator, exposure suit, fins, torch and dive computer. It goes from a rental kit up to a twinset and a drysuit. Every upgrade shows what it changes before you buy it, and the gear is drawn the way it really looks.

Hold your safety stop
When your air runs low, follow the line up and hold your position between two lines while the countdown runs, then surface. On a real dive, most agencies teach a three-minute stop at about five metres before you come up. The game’s version is shorter, but it builds the same habit. If you want the real-world side of it, our article on whether scuba diving is dangerous covers why the stop matters.

Five real dive sites in Bali
The new Dive Sites mode puts five real Bali sites on a map. Each has its own conditions, objectives and stars to earn, and some need better gear before you can dive them.
- USAT Liberty, Tulamben: a US Army cargo ship torpedoed in January 1942 and beached at Tulamben. She now lies on her side about 30 m from the shore, from a few metres below the surface down to about 30 m.
- Tulamben Drop Off: a wall that starts at 3 m and keeps going past 80 m.
- Temple Point, Menjangan: coral gardens and drop-offs inside West Bali National Park.
- Manta Point, Nusa Penida: a cleaning station where reef mantas come in all year.
- Crystal Bay, Nusa Penida: cold water, strong current at the tide change, and the best odds of a mola-mola, with sightings peaking from July to September.
Each site has its own page on flappydiver.com, with what the real dive is like.

A global top 100 and Today’s Dive
Ranked Dive puts your own gear against everyone else’s on a global top 100, which starts from zero for this launch. Today’s Dive gives every player in the world the same twist for the day, such as strong currents or thin air. Everyone dives it with the standard kit, so it comes down to how you dive.
