
Alor to Komodo Expedition | Naga Biru | 2-14 September 2027
Thirteen days on Naga Biru from the Alor archipelago west along Flores to Komodo National Park, the same crossing as the July trip in reverse.

The route
- Alor, 4 days: Clown Valley and Cathedral on the way south to Beang Bay, with its black sand muck dives, volcanic bubbles and hot spring. Then Hirang Express, Wolang Cave and Apuri Bay, where thresher sharks are occasionally seen in the shallows, and Bama Wall and Bakalang Jetty. At Munaseli there is a chance of sharks, and now and then a school of hammerheads.
- West Pantar and Lembata: the wall of Pulau Lapang, where green and hawksbill turtles are regularly seen.
- Maumere: Pemana Besar, Gosong Boni and Pemana Kecil, with a chance of blacktip reef sharks.
- Riung: two dives in the Riung 17 Islands Marine Park.
- Komodo National Park, 5 days: the north at Shotgun, Castle Rock and Crystal Rock, a Gili Lawa sunset walk, Manta Point and the flying foxes of Kalong. Then the dragons on Rinca, Pink Beach and frogfish at Lasa Island. Langkoi Bay in the far south, where manta rays often come to feed in the cold upwelling, and finally Batu Bolong and Tatawa Besar.
- Last day: disembark in Labuan Bajo after breakfast.
The cruise director and captain adjust sites and timings to weather, currents and tides.

From EUR 3,960 per person (about USD 4,465), with the cabin prices and live availability on the Naga Biru page. Government fees are paid on top: EUR 30 per person per day, EUR 390 for the trip.

Naga Biru is a 35 m phinisi built in 2024. Most of the year she runs dive trips of five to seven nights in Komodo National Park. A few times a year she leaves those routes for longer expeditions: crossings to Alor and to Bali, and in 2027 a trip built around manta rays with Manta Expeditions, a company affiliated with the Manta Trust.

10 to 22 July 2027, 12 nights. The long way from Komodo National Park to the Alor archipelago, by way of Riung, Maumere and Lembata. From EUR 3,960 per person (about USD 4,465).
Alor to Komodo

2 to 14 September 2027, 12 nights. The same crossing the other way, from Alor back to Komodo National Park. From EUR 3,960 per person (about USD 4,465).

The boat

Naga Biru has seven cabins, each with its own bathroom and air conditioning. The two Deluxe cabins have a private balcony and the two Grand Deluxe cabins a private terrace. Nitrox is included for certified divers, and each guide leads four divers at most. She is run by Komodo Dragon Liveaboards from Labuan Bajo, the operator of Naga Biru and Putri Naga.
