Augustine Phinisi

The Augustine Phinisi, launched in 2019 to honor the founders’ grandmother, Oma Augustine, is a 30-meter boat handcrafted in Tanahberu. This family-run boat is managed entirely by the founders, who take care of every detail to make sure guests feel welcome and comfortable. From the moment guests come aboard, they’re treated like family, with a focus on comfort and safety that makes Augustine stand out from other Phinisi boats.

Cruising through the clear waters around Komodo, the Augustine Phinisi offers more than just beautiful views. Guests can enjoy unique, personalized experiences like visiting the Suku Bajo community or take part in marine conservation activities with the “Be a Marine Biologist for a Day” program. The boat pairs traditional build with a small crew who set the trip around the group.

The Cabins

The Augustine Phinisi features four VIP suites, each designed for comfort and style.

  • Bedroom 1 is located on the main deck and includes a queen bed with two additional beds. It offers a private balcony with ample space and big windows for great views.

  • Bedroom 2, on the upper deck, has two twin beds plus one extra bed.

  • Bedroom 3, also on the upper deck, features two twin beds plus two extra beds and comes with its own private balcony, perfect for relaxing with a view.

  • Bedroom 4 is similarly located on the upper deck, with a queen bed and two extra beds, and includes a private balcony for a bit of extra space and comfort.

Each suite has an en-suite bathroom and large windows.

Note: For your comfort, the boat accommodates up to 10 guests. However, you can request up to 4 additional beds if needed. Please contact us for details regarding extra guests.

Personalized Fun Activities

Before sailing, guests fill out a preference sheet so the crew can set the trip around what the group wants to do. Options include a visit to the Bajo village, which inspired scenes in Avatar: The Way of Water, with a donation to the local school library. For children there is a treasure hunt, a cooking class and a floating trampoline. There is also a White Shark water scooter, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. Certified divers can dive the main sites, and there is snorkelling and freediving. Seakola runs a “Be a Marine Biologist for a Day” programme, and there are movie nights on deck.
